1. What air regulations does the state of Delaware follow?

• The state of Delaware adheres to all federal emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). 2. Which state organization manages air pollution regulations?

• Division of Air and Waste Management : The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control houses the Division of Air and Waste Management. http://www.awm.delaware.gov/Pages/aboutagency.aspx This division regulates emissions of air contaminants through construction and operating permits for industrial facilities, inspection and emission testing of these facilities, environmental regulation enforcement, and emission testing requirements for vehicles.

3. What are the responsibilities of the Division of Air and Waste Management Section?

• Air Quality and Monitoring: Monitors and regulates all emissions to the air and issues "permits to construct" and "permits to operate" to air contaminant sources http://www.awm.delaware.gov/Pages/AirQuality.aspx
• Regulatory Programs: Regulates the handling, transfer, storage and disposal of solid, infectious and hazardous waste; http://www.awm.delaware.gov/Pages/RegulatoryPrograms.aspx
•  Cleanup of Contaminated Properties: Oversees the remediationof sites that have been contaminated by hazardous chemicals; http://www.awm.delaware.gov/Pages/ContamProperties.aspx
• Environmental Enforcement: Enforce Delaware's environmental rules and regulations http://www.awm.delaware.gov/Pages/Enforcement.aspx
• Air Surveillance: Monitors ambient air quality and emissions to the air from specific sources. Air quality is monitored at nine locations throughout the state. http://www.dnrec.state.de.us/air/aqm_page/airmont/air.asp
• Enforcement and Compliance: Write permits, inspects facilities and takes enforcement actions when permits are violated. http://www.dnrec.delaware.gov/info/Pages/Enforcement.aspx
