  • The state of Iowa adheres to all federal emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). National emission standards for HAPs, compliance dates and their rules and implementation are found in the following U.S. Environmental Protection Agency link: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/atw/eparules.html. The state of Iowa uses the federal list for emissions inventory.

  • Air Quality Branch: The Iowa Department of Natural Resources http://www.iowadnr.gov/index.html houses the branch of Air Quality. http://www.iowadnr.gov/air/index.html. Its primary mission is to assure that air quality meet acceptable government regulations and that the health and safety of Iowa residents are guaranteed through appropriate regulations and permitting.
