1. What air regulations does the state of Arkansas follow?

• The state of Arkansas adheres to all federal emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). The state of Arkansas uses the federal list for emissions inventory and regulations.

2. Which state organization manages air pollution regulations?

• Air Division: The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality http://www.adeq.state.ar.us/default.htm houses the Air Division. Its mission is to preserve and protect the air quality for the citizens of Arkansas through implementation and enforcement of applicable regulations in a fair and equitable manner. http://www.adeq.state.ar.us/air/default.htm

3. What are the responsibilities of the Air Division?

• Program Support: Responsible for administration and enforcement and asbestos and lead-based paint. http://www.adeq.state.ar.us/air/branch_program_support/default.htm
•  Planning and Air Quality Analysis : Responsible for regulatory review, making revisions to state air regulations and is service oriented specializing in technical, educational and graphical assistance for the Air Division. http://www.adeq.state.ar.us/air/branch_planning/default.htm
• Permits: Issues new permits and permit modifications to existing facilities after reviewing and evaluating permit applications for administrative and technical completeness and ensuring that each application meets regulatory adequacy http://www.adeq.state.ar.us/air/branch_planning/default.htm
• Compliance Monitoring: To ensure that permitted facilities are operating according to state and federal air pollution regulations.
