1. What air regulations does the state of Florida follow?

• The state of Florida adheres to all federal emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). National emission standards for HAPs, compliance dates and their rules and implementation are found in the following U.S. Environmental Protection Agency link: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/atw/eparules.html. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection ensures that industries in the state comply with the limits on toxic air pollutant emissions established under the Clean Air Act.

2. Which state organization manages air pollution regulations?

• Division of Air Resource Management: The Florida Department of Environmental Protectionhttp://www.dep.state.fl.us/mainpage/default.htm houses theDivision of Air Resource Management. http://www.dep.state.fl.us/mainpage/programs/air.htm. Its role is to protect, conserve and restore Florida's air, with the primary goal of protecting the health of its residents.

3. What are the responsibilities of the Air Resource Management?

• Bureau of Air Monitoring and Mobile Sources: Responsible for coordinating state wide ambient air quality and emissions monitoring programs and activities related to control of air pollutant emissions from motor vehicles and area sources; http://www.dep.state.fl.us/air/about_us/bamms.htm;
•  Bureau of Air Regulation: Responsible for coordinating state wide permitting, compliance assurance, and enforcement among state's air programs, local air programs and the EPA. http://www.dep.state.fl.us/air/about_us/bar.htm;.
• The Office of Policy Analysis and Program Management: Responsible for developing air pollution rules as directed by the Florida Statutes and federal Clean Air Act and updating the State Implementation Plans needed to ensure attainment and maintenance of national ambient air quality standards throughout. http://www.dep.state.fl.us/air/about_us/opapm.htm
