  • The state of Minnesota adheres to all federal emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). National emission standards for HAPs, compliance dates and their rules and implementation are found in the following U.S. Environmental Protection Agency link: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/atw/eparules.html. The Minnesota air toxics list is used for emission inventory. There are 209 individual air toxic chemicals and 18 groups of chemicals included in the 2005 air toxics emission inventory. This list includes the 188 HAPs identified by the EPA, pollutants in the Great Lakes regional air toxics emission inventory project, and pollutants monitored in Minnesota's outdoor air.
