  • The state of Pennsylvania adheres to all federal emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). National emission standards for HAPs, compliance dates and their rules and implementation are found in the following U.S. Environmental Protection Agencylink: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/atw/eparules.html. Pennsylvania uses the RAPIDS (Regional Air Pollutant Inventory Development System) list which is the Fed HAPs list plus three more chemicals - beryllium, fluorides and hydrogen sulfide.
